The autumn is crisp and the sun is shining. The 14th China Intelligent Electric Technology Forum and China-US + AFDD Technology Development and Application Seminar was held at Shanghai Changjiang Hotel from October 31st to November 1st, 2018. Aidi Di Electric (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. was invited to participate.

Yin Tianwen, Dean of Shanghai Electric Power College, gave a speech on "Development Status and Trends of Arc Fault Protectors". In the speech: the first generation of electrical fault protectors: MCB, second generation: MCB + RCD, third generation: MCB + RCD + AFDD, the third generation is a new generation of electrical fault protection. The development status of the arc fault protector is analyzed in depth, and the main problems are summarized. Finally, the general idea of the future development of the arc fault protector is proposed.
